The joint programme of Estonian Refugee Council and the Labor Inspectorate supports the entry of refugees into the labor market 14.08.2023

This fall Estonian Refugee Council organises the "Employability" labor market programme in cooperation with the Labor Inspectorate, the aim of which is to help refugees enter the labor market here in Estonia. In the course of the programme, among other things, trends in the Estonian labor market, legal issues and CV preparation will be focused on, a total of half a hundred refugees will benefit from the programme.

"At Estonian Refugee Council, we support entrepreneurship and starting our own businesses in several destination countries, but we see that there is also a great need for skills, such as how to enter the labor market, how to write an attractive self-introduction, where to apply and how to prepare for interviews. It can be difficult to navigate the systems of a new country and their peculiarities alone, which is why the labor market program supporting refugees in Estonia was also created," explained Veronika Saareväli, head of the Community Programme of the Estonian Refugee Council.

"At the Labor Inspectorate, we see that refugees who have arrived in Estonia can potentially be very vulnerable and end up in a difficult situation because they are not so well acquainted with the local working life," added Vladimir Logatšev, the leading consulting lawyer of the Labor Inspectorate.

A total of 50 people can participate in the two-week labor market programme, and after completing the programme, they can additionally consult with mentors for three months. Participants acquire new knowledge about trends in the Estonian labor market, legal issues, CV preparation, tips for participating in the application process, etc. At the end of the programme, each participant together with the trainer has prepared their own work folder, which contains an updated CV and motivation letter.

The programme is suitable for everyone, regardless of their work experience or current employment status in Estonia.

Estonian Refugee Council and Labor Inspectorate are waiting for participants from all over Estonia, if necessary, transport and accommodation costs to Tallinn will be covered, you can take part in the programme for free. Trainings are held in English and Russian.
